Giovedì Santo, festa del sacerdozio 

I sacerdoti sono persone che Dio sceglie per aiutare gli altri a conoscere e amare Gesù. Possiamo pensarli come guide speciali nella Chiesa: celebrano la Messa, insegnano la Parola di Dio e accompagnano le persone nei momenti belli e difficili.  

Anche se sono uomini come tutti, ricevono una missione importante: portare la luce di Dio e aiutare le persone a crescere nella fede. Sono come ponti che ci avvicinano a Gesù e ci ricordano che Dio è sempre con noi.  

Non sono perfetti, ma si affidano a Dio ogni giorno per servire con amore e umiltà. E noi possiamo sostenerli con la nostra preghiera e il nostro affetto, perché il loro compito è prezioso per tutta la comunità.  

Preghiera per i sacerdoti

Signore misericordioso,  

Tu che hai scelto i sacerdoti come strumenti della Tua grazia,  

avvolgili nel Tuo amore infinito.  

Fa' che siano luce per chi cerca la verità,  

balsamo per chi soffre,  

coraggio per chi vacilla.  

Rafforza le loro mani,  

affinché benedicano con purezza,  

illumina le loro parole,  

perché siano eco della Tua sapienza,  

rendi ardente il loro cuore,  

così che possano amare senza misura.  

Quando il peso della missione si fa gravoso, sostienili.  

Quando la solitudine li assale, confortali.  

Quando il mondo li mette alla prova, proteggili.  

Fa' di loro specchio della Tua misericordia,  

strumenti della Tua pace,  

testimoni autentici del Tuo amore.

Holy Thursday is the feast of the priesthood.

Priests are people whom God chooses to help others know and love Jesus.

We can think of them as special guides in the Church: they celebrate Mass, teach the Word of God, and accompany people in both joyful and difficult moments.

Even though they are men like everyone else, they receive an important mission: to bring God's light and help people grow in faith. They are like bridges that bring us closer to Jesus and remind us that God is always with us.

They are not perfect, but they rely on God every day to serve with love and humility. And we can support them with our prayers and affection because their mission is precious to the entire community.

Prayer for Priests

Merciful Lord,  

You have chosen priests as instruments of Your grace,  

envelop them in Your infinite love.  

Make them a light for those who seek truth,  

a balm for those who suffer,  

courage for those who falter.  

Strengthen their hands,  

so that they may bless with purity,  

illuminate their words,  

so they may echo Your wisdom,  

set their hearts aflame,  

so they may love without measure.  

When the burden of their mission becomes heavy, sustain them.  

When loneliness assails them, comfort them.  

When the world tests them, protect them.  

Make them a reflection of Your mercy,  

instruments of Your peace,  

true witnesses of Your love.
