36. Veracità Sii trasparente davanti a Lui.- 25 marzo 20276

La veracità non è l’esercizio muscolare di una coerenza impeccabile, ma il coraggio di una resa: è l’atto di deporre le armi della finzione per abitare, finalmente, la propria nuda terra. Essere trasparenti davanti a Lui significa accettare che la nostra "situazione concreta" — fatta di frammenti, di desideri incompiuti e di fragilità che spesso cerchiamo di mimetizzare — non sia un ostacolo alla Grazia, ma il suo unico, vero punto di accesso. Troppo spesso viviamo una fede di facciata, convinti che per presentarci al cospetto dell’Assoluto serva un abito da festa, una perfezione levigata che non ci appartiene; eppure, la verità della nostra condizione umana è un impasto di fango e di luce, un groviglio di fatiche che la Provvidenza non guarda con occhio giudicante, ma con la premura del vasaio che conosce la resistenza dell'argilla.

In questo specchio di verità, la fede smette di essere un rifugio astratto per diventare il luogo del confronto reale: dove noi vediamo un fallimento che ci umilia, la Provvidenza scorge uno spazio vuoto che può finalmente essere riempito; dove noi sentiamo il peso di una colpa che ci chiude, Colui che ci salva vede la fessura da cui far filtrare la misericordia. La salvezza, infatti, non accade mai "nonostante" ciò che siamo, ma proprio attraverso la cruda realtà della nostra storia, perché non si può guarire ciò che si sceglie di tenere nascosto.

Abbracciare la veracità significa allora smettere di gestire la propria immagine davanti a Dio, rinunciando alla tentazione di apparire giusti per riscoprirsi semplicemente figli, amati nella propria incompletezza. È in questo abbandono trasparente che la nostra situazione concreta smette di essere una prigione e diventa un altare: lì, dove non abbiamo più nulla da difendere, la Provvidenza inizia a tessere la sua trama invisibile, trasformando ogni nostra debolezza in una feritoia di luce e ogni nostra povertà nella ricchezza di chi sa di avere estremo bisogno di un Salvatore. Solo chi accetta di stare nella verità del proprio nulla può fare esperienza dell'infinito tutto di Dio, scoprendo che la veracità è la chiave che apre la porta del cuore a Colui che non attende la nostra perfezione, ma la nostra autenticità.

Veracity is not the muscular exercise of impeccable consistency, but the courage of surrender: it is the act of laying down the weapons of pretense to finally inhabit one's own naked ground. To be transparent before Him means accepting that our "concrete situation"—composed of fragments, unfulfilled desires, and fragilities we often try to camouflage—is not an obstacle to Grace, but its only true point of access. Too often we live a facade of faith, convinced that to present ourselves before the Absolute requires a festive garment, a polished perfection that does not belong to us; yet, the truth of our human condition is a blend of mud and light, a tangle of struggles that Providence does not view with a judgmental eye, but with the care of a potter who knows the resistance of the clay.

In this mirror of truth, faith stops being an abstract refuge and becomes the place of real confrontation: where we see a failure that humiliates us, Providence discerns an empty space that can finally be filled; where we feel the weight of a guilt that encloses us, He who saves us sees the crack through which mercy can filter. Salvation, in fact, never happens "despite" what we are, but precisely through the raw reality of our history, because one cannot heal what one chooses to keep hidden.

To embrace veracity, then, means to stop managing one's image before God, renouncing the temptation to appear righteous in order to rediscover oneself simply as a child, loved in one's own incompleteness. It is in this transparent abandonment that our concrete situation ceases to be a prison and becomes an altar: there, where we no longer have anything to defend, Providence begins to weave its invisible web, transforming our every weakness into a slit of light and our every poverty into the wealth of one who knows they are in desperate need of a Savior. Only those who accept to stand in the truth of their own nothingness can experience the infinite everything of God, discovering that veracity is the key that opens the heart's door to the One who does not await our perfection, but our authenticity.
