Fratelli e sorelle, la storia di Giuseppe e la parabola dei contadini malvagi ci parlano di un profondo messaggio che attraversa i secoli. Quando i fratelli di Giuseppe videro che il loro padre lo amava più di tutti gli altri figli, il loro cuore si riempì di odio, tanto da non riuscire più a rivolgergli parole amichevoli. E così anche i contadini malvagi, alla vista del figlio, dissero: “Costui è l’erede. Su, uccidiamolo e prendiamo la sua eredità!”. Ma, in entrambi i racconti, l'oscurità non ha l'ultima parola.

L'avidità e l'invidia possono accecare gli occhi del cuore, generando sterilità e violenza. Ma Dio ci chiama a qualcosa di molto più grande: ad aprire gli occhi, a spezzare le catene di questi sentimenti distruttivi, e a riconoscere il bene che ci circonda. Ci invita a scegliere la via dell'amore che rigenera, che trasforma e che dona vita.

La croce, come il pozzo in cui Giuseppe fu gettato, sembra un luogo di disperazione. Eppure, proprio lì si manifesta la speranza! Dio non ci abbandona nelle nostre cadute; ci solleva e ci invita a vivere una vita nuova, fatta di compassione, solidarietà e misericordia.

Oggi siamo chiamati a lasciare che la grazia di Dio rinnovi i nostri cuori, ad accogliere l’altro con amore, e a coltivare relazioni di pace e giustizia. Questo è il cammino penitenziale che ci porta non solo al pentimento, ma a una gioiosa rinascita nello spirito!

Riconosciamo il male che ci tiene prigionieri, chiediamo perdono con cuore sincero e affidiamoci alla forza trasformatrice dell’amore divino. Il nostro Dio non ci lascia mai nell’oscurità: ci dona sempre una nuova alba di speranza!

The English Version 

Brothers and sisters, the story of Joseph and the parable of the wicked tenants speak to us of a profound message that transcends centuries. When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his other sons, their hearts filled with hatred, to the point that they could no longer speak kindly to him. Similarly, the wicked tenants, upon seeing the son, said to one another, “This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance!” But in both stories, darkness does not have the final word.

Greed and envy can blind the eyes of the heart, leading to sterility and violence. Yet God calls us to something much greater: to open our eyes, to break the chains of these destructive feelings, and to recognize the goodness around us. He invites us to choose the path of love that regenerates, transforms, and brings life.

The cross, like the pit into which Joseph was thrown, may seem like a place of despair. Yet it is precisely there that hope is revealed! God does not abandon us in our falls; He lifts us up and invites us to live a new life, one of compassion, solidarity, and mercy.

Today, we are called to let God’s grace renew our hearts, to welcome others with love, and to cultivate relationships of peace and justice. This is the penitential path that not only leads us to repentance but also to a joyful spiritual renewal!

Let us recognize the evil that holds us captive, ask forgiveness with sincere hearts, and entrust ourselves to the transforming power of divine love. Our God never leaves us in darkness—He always gives us a new dawn of hope!
