Il Sacrificio di Gesù: Un Sì che Salva

Il tema del sacrificio nella fede cristiana è un concetto che risuona profondamente nella storia della salvezza. Le parole del testo biblico «Ecco, io vengo per fare, o Dio, la tua volontà» Ebrei 10,7, riflettono il cuore del messaggio di Gesù Cristo: un totale atto di fiducia e obbedienza al Padre Celeste.

Gesù, attraverso il suo sacrificio, ha rivelato il significato più profondo della parola "sacrificio". La parola, sacrificio, deriva dal latino "sacrificium", composto da due elementi: sacer (sacro, santo) e facere (fare, compiere). Letteralmente, significa "rendere sacro" o "fare qualcosa di sacro".

Nell'antichità, il termine veniva usato principalmente in riferimento agli atti rituali e religiosi, come l'offerta di animali o beni agli dèi, per invocare favori divini o esprimere gratitudine. Col tempo, il concetto di sacrificio si è evoluto, acquisendo un significato più ampio. Oggi può indicare anche il rinunciare a qualcosa di personale per un bene superiore, per amore o per altruismo. È un'offerta che trasforma, un sì che illumina, e un atto che porta amore e redenzione. Nella sua vita e nella sua morte, Gesù ha incarnato la perfetta fiducia nel Padre. Egli ha abolito il sistema dei sacrifici tradizionali, quelli basati su offerte e olocausti, per inaugurare un nuovo tipo di sacrificio: il sacrificio del suo stesso corpo. Con il sangue dell'Agnello senza macchia, ha redento e santificato chiunque creda nel suo nome.

Signore Onnipotente, Padre Celeste,

possa ascoltare la nostra supplica in questo tempo di dolore e bisogno.

Le parole di Gesù, il tuo Figlio amato, risuonano profondamente nel nostro cuore:  

«Ecco, io vengo per fare, o Dio, la tua volontà».  

In queste parole, scorgiamo il sacrificio che ha cambiato il mondo,  

il sì supremo di fiducia e di obbedienza,  

il gesto che ha reso sacro tutto ciò che siamo e tutto ciò che possiamo diventare.

Oggi, Signore, invochiamo il tuo aiuto  

E chiediamo la forza che viene dalla fede, quella forza che Gesù ha dimostrato  

Quando ha donato sé stesso per la nostra salvezza.  

Nella sua croce troviamo speranza, nel suo sacrificio troviamo guarigione.  

Il sangue dell’Agnello, versato per noi, è il segno eterno del tuo amore che guarisce,

The theme of sacrifice in Christian faith is a concept that deeply resonates in the history of salvation. The words of the biblical text «Here I am, I come to do Your will, O God» Heb. 10:7, reflect the core of Jesus Christ’s message: a total act of trust and obedience to the Heavenly Father.

Through His sacrifice, Jesus revealed the profound meaning of the word "sacrifice." The term sacrifice comes from the Latin "sacrificium", consisting of two elements: sacer (sacred, holy) and facere (to do, to make). Literally, it means "to make sacred" or "to render something sacred."

In ancient times, the term was primarily used to refer to ritual and religious acts, such as the offering of animals or goods to gods to invoke divine favor or express gratitude. Over time, the concept of sacrifice evolved, gaining a broader meaning. Today, it can also signify giving up something personal for a higher purpose, for love or for altruism. In His life and death, Jesus embodied perfect trust in the Father. He abolished the system of traditional sacrifices—those based on offerings and burnt offerings—to inaugurate a new kind of sacrifice: the sacrifice of His own body. With the blood of the spotless Lamb, He redeemed and sanctified anyone who believes in His name.

The gibbet, the cross, became the ultimate symbol of love. There, Jesus gave His life as a living witness of God’s will. A sacrifice that was not merely a gesture of death but an act of faith and life. Jesus' yes was not simply spoken in words but carved in history through the supreme gift of His existence.
