Avere Gesù: non è una vana religiosità

Esattamente, seguire Gesù implica una scelta radicale che spesso porta con sé difficoltà e opposizioni. Egli stesso è stato rifiutato, perseguitato e alla fine crocifisso, e ha preparato i suoi discepoli a vivere esperienze simili. 

La vita cristiana non è un cammino privo di ostacoli, ma è un percorso che invita alla fiducia, alla perseveranza e alla testimonianza. Nel Vangelo, Gesù dice anche: "Nel mondo avrete tribolazioni; ma fatevi coraggio: io ho vinto il mondo." (Giovanni 16:33). Questo è un messaggio di speranza: le difficoltà non sono il punto finale, perché chi cammina con Cristo trova una forza più grande per affrontarle.

La contraddizione che si incontra scegliendo di seguire Gesù non è necessariamente segno di errore, ma può essere prova di fedeltà. La società spesso propone valori e modelli di vita che si allontanano da quelli del Vangelo, e chi decide di vivere secondo una prospettiva cristiana può trovarsi in contrasto con questi schemi. La sfida diventa allora quella di rimanere saldi nella fede, senza cedere alla paura o al conformismo.

Tutto questo può essere difficile, ma la fede offre una forza interiore che permette di affrontare le prove con coraggio e speranza.

Preghiera per la forza nella fede 

Signore Gesù,  

Tu che hai camminato tra le difficoltà, rifiutato e perseguitato,  

sostienici quando la via diventa impervia.  

Donaci la forza di rimanere saldi nella fede,  

di non temere le contraddizioni del mondo,  

di trovare coraggio nelle tue parole:  

"Io ho vinto il mondo."

Fa' che il nostro cuore non si smarrisca nei dubbi,  

che i nostri passi non vacillino di fronte alle prove,  

che la nostra anima trovi rifugio in Te.  

Guidaci nella verità,  

nella speranza che illumina le tenebre,  

nell'amore che vince ogni ostilità.

Exactly, following Jesus requires a radical choice that often brings difficulties and opposition. He himself was rejected, persecuted, and ultimately crucified, and he prepared his disciples to experience similar trials.

The Christian life is not a path free of obstacles, but a journey that calls for trust, perseverance, and testimony. In the Gospel, Jesus also says, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). This is a message of hope: difficulties are not the final destination, because those who walk with Christ find a greater strength to face them.

The contradiction encountered in choosing to follow Jesus is not necessarily a sign of error but can be proof of faithfulness. Society often promotes values and lifestyles that diverge from those of the Gospel, and those who choose to live according to a Christian perspective may find themselves in conflict with these prevailing norms. The challenge, then, is to remain steadfast in faith, without yielding to fear or conformism.

All of this can be difficult, but faith provides an inner strength that allows one to face trials with courage and hope.

Prayer for Strength in Faith 

Lord Jesus,  

You who walked through difficulties, rejected and persecuted,  

sustain us when the path becomes rough.  

Grant us the strength to remain firm in faith,  

to not fear the contradictions of the world,  

to find courage in your words:  

"I have overcome the world."

Let our hearts not be lost in doubt,  

let our steps not falter in the face of trials,  

let our souls find refuge in You.  

Guide us in truth,  

in the hope that illuminates the darkness,  

in the love that conquers all hostility.
