The turning point!

Jesus was talking to those Jews who believed in him or agreed with him.  But in a certain point they were scandalized, because they felt insulted. As if that Jesus was talking to them and indirectly insinuating that they never have known the truth.  Being Jewish observants and religious practioners, we should never forget that they certainly have known the "truth", because they were convinced that their religion, is the right religion that have taught to what is orthodox (meaning, "right doctrine"). So they are offended to be considered ignorant of the truth.

“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

It's hard to follow Jesus when our mindset still belongs to that scheme or blueprint of a certain religiosity which is totally different to what Jesus is teaching to discover. So what happened they started to get into discussion, they started to give their biodata as "descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone" (n.b. we should not forget that the socio-political context at that time was that the Romans envaded Jerusalem, thus they were paying taxes to the Empire).

They couldn't accept such truth of their socio-political situation. They continually deny such element of the truth. They want to continue to believe the dogma of their religion, claiming to be descendants of Abraham, meaning children of the "covenant", but in-fact they are living the contradiction of their faith.  This fact is the same with our own way of thinking, we cling to our religion as if the ultimate faith, thus we convince ourselves that we can be saved to our practices and our devotional observances. But then we realize that something is no longer in accord to what is really the wisdom of Love in our life. The paradox that we can't accept deep within, where certain practices is keeping us only for lip-service and it's no longer giving sense to our spiritual need. Instead of turning to the Word of God that can help us to renew our lives in the Spirit, there are those who insist to pursue practices that many unskilled pastors are doing: disseminate dreadful prophesies so to hit people on their weaknesses and fears; seeing visions of the Mother Mary in the clouds and listening to the voices of the visionaries and impostors instead of listening to the Word of God, or to the Bible itself.

Becoming disciples of Jesus is not only by approving to what He says and to what He teaches, but most of all to let ourselves be a DWELLING PLACE of the Word of God, the GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS OF OUR SALVATION - from greek "Euaggelion" : NOT DREADFUL NOR APOCALYPTIC MESSAGES that confuse people and cause disorientations). BEWARE TO THOSE CHRISTIANS who say that they preach the Gospel, but they offer FEAR!!!!

1 John 4:17In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment.  The one who fears has not been perfected in love. 

Let us pray:

Jesus, I honor you with all of my heart
I humbly ask you in your name to let your Holy Spirit
be upon me right now so I may understand your Wisdom.
Enlighten my mind and heart so I won't be fixated to any religious fanaticism.
Teach me to do the "work of the Father", meaning to manifest "Mercy & Love",
instead of keeping my mind and my heart troubled to any religious 
manipulations that these people announcing 
"END TIMES"& "APOCALYPTIC PROPHESIES",
that are causing terrible fear and mental assault in every part.
Jesus, I submit to your Kingship, because you are my Lord and my Savior,
nothing is stronger that your Love, you won't allow us to get astray.
I believe that this problem that we are facing right now is a point of awakening
and never be our judgment and dread, 
I believe that you are always with us, so protect us Lord with your Holy stripes,
Jesus be with us, keep us always united to the Heavenly Father
with the Holy Spirit that consoles us continually from our distress.
Be with me Jesus, in you I entrust all my love ones, my home and everything that I possess. Amen.

From the Gospel according to John
JN 8:31-42

Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him,
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham
and have never been enslaved to anyone.
How can you say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.
A slave does not remain in a household forever,
but a son always remains.
So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free.
I know that you are descendants of Abraham.
But you are trying to kill me,
because my word has no room among you.
I tell you what I have seen in the Father’s presence;
then do what you have heard from the Father.”
They answered and said to him, “Our father is Abraham.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children,
you would be doing the works of Abraham.
But now you are trying to kill me,
a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God;
Abraham did not do this.
You are doing the works of your father!”
So they said to him, “We were not born of fornication.
We have one Father, God.”
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here;
I did not come on my own, but he sent me.”
